This bust was previously part of the art collection displayed at Temple Newsam House, Leeds.

One of several similar busts produced by Jan Claudius de Cock in the early eighteenth century. The model's expression varies between each bust and the medallion worn around the neck depicts a different male profile or a coat of arms.
